CANYENGUE TANGO...

Canyengue style goes back approximately to the year 1900 when tango was about to start its evolution. With a peculiar rhythm, this style stands out because of its posture, its leading and its sweetness. Bending legs coming from the posture of the Negroes dances, the physical contact between both bodies and their embracing posture are some qualities of Canyengue tango, accompanied by the typical orchestras from the old days such as Canaro, Juan Maglio Pacho with recordings from 1927/1930, the orchestra Tipica Victor, Adolfo Carabelli accompanied by Mercedes Moran or Bianco Bachicha among others.

The first beats of an old orchestra can be heard… and among miriñaques, embroidery, chambergo and hats, the image of the dancers appears. They make us imagine how our parents, grandparents and great grandparents must have danced. Thus, among laughter and smiles Noelia and Nahuel dance and feel the Canyengue tango.
‘Nowadays, the image of Rodolfo and María is for us the image of Canyengue tango. They were the ones who taught us this unique style so that we can show, enjoy and teach it'.
